Wind blows pipes suspended above water, causing them to sway back and forth and bob up and down. The sound of the bottom of the pipes hitting the surface of the water will be amplified.

Installation mock up in which amplified PVC pipes were placed in manually simulated quicksand. Audience members could listen to resulting sounds through headphones.

The Elements

The Elements is one of the six labs of the  ArtScience Interfaculty  taking place at the De Zandmotor Kijkduin, NL in collaboration with the Satellietgroep.

The Elements is an outside coastal lab situated along the North Sea at the Zandmotor Kijkduin. What does it mean to work in a dynamic intertidal environment, where the tides are dictating time and seasons are close to our skin. The lab has a phenomenological approach, stimulates you to play, wander, explore and focus on elements in your own way, where also your own censorial body in relation to this dynamic landscape can be considered as an element.

Element:
